Snaptab photographs receipts and invoices, reads them into structured data, keeps a digital copy for you, and can write rows into Google Sheets you choose. This page describes exactly what that involves. The short version: we store what you scan so you can get it back, we sell nothing, we show no ads, and you can delete everything yourself, in the app, at any time.
What we collect
Your Google account identity. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and Google account identifier. We use these to create your account and show you your own documents, and for nothing else.
The documents you scan. The photograph you take and the data read from it — merchant, dates, line items, amounts, taxes, payment method, barcodes and serial numbers where present. These are stored on our servers so your archive follows your account onto any phone.
Usage counts. How many scans your account has made, because plans have scan limits.
Subscription state. If you subscribe, Google Play sends us a purchase token proving the subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play — we never see your card or bank details.
What we do with it
- Each photograph is sent, over an encrypted connection, to OpenAI's API to be read into structured data. Under OpenAI's API terms this data is not used to train their models.
- Your documents are stored on servers operated by Fly.io in the European Union (Frankfurt), encrypted in transit.
- If you connect a channel to Google Sheets, the app writes rows into the spreadsheet you selected, directly from your phone using your own Google permission. We do not read, store, or access any other file in your Google account.
What we never do
- No selling or renting of your data, to anyone, for anything.
- No advertising and no advertising trackers.
- No sharing with third parties beyond the processors named above (OpenAI for extraction, Fly.io for hosting, Google for sign-in and billing), each used only to make the app work.
- No reading of your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or anything beyond the single spreadsheet permission you grant.
How long we keep it
Your documents stay until you delete them. You can delete any single document, every document at once, or your entire account — all from the app under Settings → Your data. Account deletion removes your documents, their photographs, your usage history, and your account record itself from our servers. It is immediate and it is real: there is no recycle bin on our side.

Rows already written into your own Google Sheets are yours and are never touched by any deletion we perform.
Children
Snaptab is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect.
